Jeremy Irons caused a bit of a sh*t storm this week when he posited that legalizing same-sex marriage could potentially lead to the recognition of marriages between parents and children of the same-sex.

Ya know, because that's the same thing.

He proposed that same-sex marriage might allow fathers to pass on their estates to their sons without being taxed. He then went on to minimize the fight for marriage equality, saying: "It seems to me that now they're fighting for the name...I worry that it means somehow we debase, or we change, what marriage is. I just worry about that."

Well now he's "explaining" himself. (And spoiler alert: it's no apology.)

Well this is special. Texas GOP Congressman Louie Gohmert gave an...unusual argument against gun control.

Apparently the idea of limiting the number of rounds in a gun clip is a slippery slope--a slope that's very similar to the one created by the legalization of same-sex marriage!

Yeah, we don't get it either. Check out Gohmert's brilliant argument after the jump.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who's been quite vocal on his opposition to gays in relation to both the Boy Scouts and same-sex marriage, is again speaking out. He rallied about 200 social conservatives on the Texas Capitol steps to show support for laws based on Chrisitian beliefs.

Apparently Gov. Perry is "unsettled" by the Supreme Court potentially trumping "the votes of our citizens." Perry has no problem, however, with citizens trumping the rights of their fellow citizens...

Oh the smell of desperation in the afternoon!

Clearly seeing the writing on the wall that DOMA is soon to be dead in the water, hate group leader Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council is grasping for any straw that he can.

After all, what's the next logical step if same-sex marriages are federally recognized? Polygamist immigrants, of course!!
