It appears Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller needs more added to his plate.
That's the only explanation we can come up with for why the clearly not busy AG is going out of his way to file a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court to get the Court to support the state's right to ban same-sex marriage.

With same-sex marriages scheduled to kick off in Maryland on January 2, county clerks throughout the state are taking a personal stance on same-sex unions.
Some deputy clerks have stated that their religious beliefs prohibit them from marrying same-sex couples. So what's the solution that one Maryland county has come up with?
These anti-marriage equality clerks won't be officiating any marriage ceremonies at all.

Gay rights pioneer Richard Adams passed away this past Monday.
Adams, along with his husband Anthony Sullivan, was one of the first gay couples in the United States to be issued a marriage license.
The two received their license in Boulder, Colorado in 1975, when a liberal county clerk, Clela Rorex began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples once it was determined that nothing in Colorado's state law explicitly forbade same-sex marriages.
