Rick Santorum really earned the meaning of his name last night with Piers Morgan. During the CNN interview, sanctimonious Santorum declared that marriage rights for same-sex couples goes against his god's will, and therefore he will work to outlaw it. Details follow. 

Six same-sex couples attempted to obtain marriage licenses in South Carolina to draw attention to the state's discriminatory practices in the WE DO campaign. Their protests, which took place late last week, has been documented in a beautiful video just released by WE DO. Follow the jump to watch. 

He might be less clear about his marriage equality intentions in the face of a groundswell of support in New Jersey, but the fact of the matter is Governor Chris Christie has said in the past that he does not support providing same-sex couples with the right. But who cares about her? According to the Wall Street Journal, New Jersey Dems are on the brink of securing a veto-proof collection of votes in the state's lawmaking chambers. Details follow. 

Whether it's by evolution or intelligent design, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney hints that candid support of marriage equality from President Obama might be on the way. (Perhaps even as soon as the State of the Union address!)

At this morning's press conference announcing the coalition of some 80+ American mayors pushing for full marriage equality across the country, New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg may have stolen the show. Details follow.

Last week we reported that Washington state was a mere four votes shy of having the needed senate support for marriage equality. MyNorthwest.com recently reported that number has dropped to a mere one vote after Sen. Jim Kastama, a conservative democrat who had previously opposed same-sex marriage, announced his departure from the dark side, making him number 24 in the Senate to commit to support same-sex couples.

With the endorsement of numerous businesses, including Microsoft Corp, (we knew we loved you, Bill), as well as Gov. Chris Gregoire, we can almost hear the gay wedding bells now.

Perhaps he's letting news that he really won Iowa get to his homophobic head or maybe it's just more frothy santorum (lower case!) spilling from his mouth, but, whatever the case, Rick Santorum's ridiculous preoccupation with gay sex took an odd turn today in South Carolina. Details follow.

Despite what lies or threats the National Organization for Marriage attempts to spread, it doesn't pay to be a hater.
