We're crying with Kelly right now!

22-year-old cancer patient, Chris Rumble teamed up with doctors and fellow patients in the hematology and oncology unit this past weekend creating their own music video for Kelly Clarkson's smash hit "Stronger."

These brave kids with cancer will recover. We won't. It's too much.

Kelly's already promised to come see the children that participated in the video at Seattle Children's Hospital.

We've reported on the handful of Washington parishes that have rejected calls from Catholic leaders in the state to promote and collect petitions in a campaign against the newly minted marriage equality law. Rev. Tim Clark, a priest at Seattle's Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, has added his parish to the roster of renegades—a move that parishioners met with a salvo of applause and a standing ovation. Though Seattle Archbishop J. Peter Sartain has launched a Catholic petition drive in an effort to repeal Washington's newly minted marriage equality law, not all parishes are obliging. In fact, a growing coalition of Washington parishes are refusing to support the anti-gay measure. Details follow. 

Priorities, priorities. Catholic bishops from the Archdiocese of Seattle need a brush up on the foundational lessons of Christianity. Catholic heirarchs are turning a blind shoulder to a proposed budget that takes money away from programs assisting the poor & disabled and instead lashing out full throttle against Washington's marriage equality law. We don't know where Babylonia Alviaz falls on the issue of marriage equality (although we can make an educated guess), but the Seatlle woman has taken a bizarre stance in order to try to save a 107-year-old building in the area.

The kiss shared 'round the world continues to blaze trails a day after it was shared between Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta and girlfriend Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic.

Dan Savage just Tweeted this picture taken of the front page of the Seattle Times featuring the historic kiss under the headline "Old tradition, new look." What better way could we celebrate the one year anniversary of Obama signing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal into law?

The "It Gets Better" contribution from Seattle spans the boundaries of professional sports leagues to include pro football and baseball players. Ironically, acting like buffoons and violently running amok is very similar to the patriarchal answer to not getting one's way, e.g. war and the Vancouver riots. A statement has been released from the so-called "anarchists" who rampaged this past Sunday after Seattle's Pride:

"Last night, some queer hooligans had the audacity to take the streets for the third year in a row. It was a smashing time! Queers Fucking Queers, a free, all-ages street party, erupted on the corner of 12th and Madison at midnight last night. The party quickly breached the confines of what’s tame and legal during Pride weekend when somebody smashed the window of a Ferrari dealership near the meeting point...

From New York to Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco, it seems like the whole world is celebrating Pride this weekend. We might be one or four (math has never been our strong suit) celebratory Bloody Marys in even at this early hour, but we'd be remiss in our work if we did not wish you, ravishing readers, a hearty, healthy, safe and joyful, joyful Pride!
