Another day, another accuser coming forth to file a sexual abuse lawsuit against Sesame Street's pink-slipped Elmo actor Kevin Clash. Details follow.

Following allegations from a new accuser, Kevin Clash, the voice behind Sesame Street's Elmo, has resigned from the children's show. Details follow. 

Sesame Street is buzzing with drama again today as 23-year old aspiring model Sheldon Stephens now claims that his initial allegations against Elmo actor Kevin Clash were true and that his recantation was based on a settlement and a lie. Details follow.

Kevin Clash's accuser has recanted the claim that Clash was involved in a sexual relationship with him while he was underage.

That petition we pointed you to yesterday asking Sesame Street to show support for marriage equality by having long-rumored couple Bert & Ernie tie the knot has caught the attention of the show, which has not only responded to the request, but in the process has once and for all made the sexuality of the famous pair official. 

So, what does Sesame Street finally have to say about all things gay surrounding the lovable duo?

With all the same-sex marriage hoopla going on, it's hard to ignore the couples who have been together for 10, 20, 30 years without the rights that heterosexual couples are afforded. Another thing to be thankful of in America, perhaps, is the well-greased machine that is Sesame Street's marketing team. Their talent for making something go viral is on par with that of the cast of Jersey Shore! Sesame Street's latest masterpiece happens to be Cookie Monster's "audition tape" for Saturday Night Live, featuring lots of drag and a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face." Ahhh, America. 

There has long been speculation that Bert and Ernie are the resident gays on Sesame Street, though likely due to the the heteronormative pressures of Hollywood, the couple for decades insisted they were simply "roommates." But a cryptic Tweet from Bert on Sesame Street's official Twitter feed over the weekend might be the beginning of the closet door opening. You decide.
