The votes were too close to call nearly a week ago on Election Night, but after improving odds, Rep. Krysten Sinema has emerged the winner of an Arizona seat to become the first openly bisexual member of the U.S. Congress!

Today was a great day in Philadelphia for the LGBT community, as it was the groundbreaking of the new John C. Anderson LGBT Senior Housing Project.

Dan Savage, a Washington resident, took a moment out of patting the LGBT community's back to applauding the oft overlooked straight allies who helped bring marriage equality to the Evergreen State. 

So, what does Dan have to say to our hetero friends?

We pinched ourselves when we woke this morning just to make sure the leaps and bounds of progress the LGBT community made on Election Night were real and not the stuff of our daiquiri dreams/blackout. 

While we still wait for a final call from Washington state, we can cheer on one of last night's biggest wins, the election of the first openly gay U.S. Senator in Wisconsin's Sen. Tammy Baldwin, as her victory speech is finally available online.

What's looking to be a historic night for the American LGBT community gets jumpstarted with Tammy Baldwin, whom multiple outlets have projected the winner of Wisconsin's U.S. Senate seat. With the win Baldwin becomes the very first openly gay U.S. Senator!

Madison, Wisconsin police may file charges against Kyle Wood, a gay Republican campaign worker for GOP congressional candidate Chad Lee, after Wood recanted statements claiming that he had been choked and assaulted at his home for being a gay Republican.
