Mr. Gay World was crowned over the weekend, giving us a fresh face to bow before. So, which of the able-bodied delegates rose to the top of the pile to rule over the international Queendom?

Judges signed on to next month's Mr. Gay World competition in South Africa sure will have their work cut out for them if the just-announced European delegation is any indication. If any judges are too overwhelmed to by the decision ahead to fulfill their duties, we'll volunteer to assume their roles. After all, we always have the measuring tape and banana oil tucked away in our homosatchels, ready for any emergency situation. See, despite what you may have heard on the gayvine, we are kind, caring and self-less. 

However, we may be biased as we have an early favorite within Europe's 2012 offerings. Do you?

On the heels of the “corrective rape” murder of lesbian LGBT rights campaigner Noxolo Nogwaza last month, South African’s Justice Ministry has set up a task force to determine the best practices to prevent hate crimes against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. The games in Vancouver weren't the only competitions to hold our attentions over the weekends. The Mr. Gay World pageant took place in Oslo and boasted more wax jobs than any of Shaun White's Olympic snowboards.

But only one international competitor could take the title after four days of swimsuit, underwear and other athletic competitions, and Mr. South Africa Charl Van den Berg (pictured) wound up on top (or...?). The 28 year old restaurant-owner from Cape Town beat out China's entry into the glitzy event, Xiaodai Muyi, despite a heavy PR assault launched from Beijing hoping to win Muyi the title. An Austrailian government official took second place, while a dancer from Hong Kong walked away with third.
