While fans waited in a long line last night at Best Buy here in West Hollywood, the reason they were waiting -- Lady Gaga -- threw them a bone pizza party.

Yahoo! reports:

Don't ever accuse Lady Gaga of not taking care of her fans.

On Monday, when she noticed the large number of people standing in line for her autograph at a Best Buy store in West Hollywood, the 23-year-old "Pokerface" singer -- who is now promoting her second album The Fame Monster -- dropped $1,000 for pizzas from Papa John's so her fans wouldn't get hungry while waiting.

"Sending all my little monsters little pizzas for waiting all night for me at best buy," she Twittered. "I hope you're hungry ... eat up I love u!"

It was only a matter of time. Social networking's ubiquity has now been linked to a school yard assault, thanks to an event page on Facebook last week titled “Kick a Ginger Day.”

In two incidents, a redheaded student at Wright Middle School in So-Cal was beaten up by groups of boys linked by the aforementioned event page. The page reportedly encouraged students to target redheads with violence on Friday, acts that, because of a recent episode, some might also hold a now-antiquated target, South Park, accountable for.

What's the proper response to this latest “anti”-crime committed with the help of Facebook? Censorship?

Two great stories from UCLA regarding HIV/AIDS have come out today.

First, UCLA has announced its participation in a 14-city AIDS vaccine trial. From the press release:

The Alliance will be vaccinating its first study volunteer and holding a press conference Oct. 29 to mark the commencement of this important study.

Also, a scientist from UCLA's AIDS Institute will receive a $20 million grant to conduct stem cell research.

Not even the reproductive industry is immune from economic woes.

A sperm bank in Southern California has devised a way to edge out the competition by selecting donors who resemble gorgeous (or of questionable attraction) male celebrities. Usually, prospective parents can't easily gauge a donor's looks when selecting which gooey stuff to purchase, but California Cryobank now offers a menu of sorts, complete with photos of celebrities above each donor.

There are plenty of look-alike's genetic material available, covering everything from famed So-Cal sports stars to Hollywood's A-list like Ben Affleck (or Seth Rogen) to both young AND older versions of Russell Crowe.

Sperm bank employees insist that gay couples too take advantage of their unique...

There’re good and bad aspects to living anywhere. Southern California is not immune.

Marking one for good is the launch of a historic municipal group in West Hollywood, the Transgender Advisory Board. The board is the first of its kind across the nation, an undeniable turning point in trans rights.

WeHo Councilmember Jeffrey Prang understands the significance of the board’s birth, saying, “As one of the nation’s leaders, focused on fighting discrimination of any kind, the City of West Hollywood recognizes the issues and concerns facing our transgender community.” The TAB's obvious purpose is to serve the needs of the trans community in West Hollywood.

And then there’s the darker side of life for So-Cal gays.

Tomorrow in Temecula...
