New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has just published a letter blasting Rabbi Noson Leiter for attempting to blame Hurricane Sandy on the state's marriage equality law. 

Gay and lesbian summer paradise Fire Island took New York's brunt of Superstorm Sandy, forever altering the landscape of many LGBT East Coaster's vacation destination. One expert even believes that Sandy formed a new inlet across Fire Island that will permanently separate the island into two. 

Amidst tweets reporting destruction and death in the wake of Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy, Westboro Baptist Church heir and spokeswoman Shirley Phelps said that her clan is thanking God today for punishing the "puddle of states" that provide same-sex marriage. 

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is supposed to be staying on Republican talking points exalting Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan but after a storm like Sandy ain't nobody got time for that! 

But Christie did have time to praise the Obama Administration for the incredible and immediate response to Sandy in multiple interviews this morning. 

So, just how far off script did Christie go?

Fire Island, New York's gay escape, is already receiving exaggerated swelling surf from Hurricane Irene, a sign that warrants Thursday's voluntary evacuation orders (and possible mandatory orders today). Details and video follow.

Spreading the "Christian" values of hate, discrimination before an estimated crowd of 1.5 million, Pope Benedict told folks gathered for Spain's World Youth Day that only straight people open to God's love are worthy of marital bliss.

Grant Storms, an anti-gay pastor in Louisiana who annointed himself the "Christian Patriot" because of his alleged sexual morals and homophobic stance, was arrested over the weekend for fondling himself in a public park. Aside from his annual bullhorn protests of gay culture outside of New Orleans' international LGBT event Southern Decadance (he referred to it as "depraved"), Storms regularly deemed masturbation as "immoral." 

Immoral until Friday night, when two women noticed Storms masturbating in a van that was parked in a public park, with children allegedly playing nearby. The 52-year old Christian champion was arrested and booked on public indecency charges.
