Not surprisingly, CBS is using Neil Patrick Harris, one of the network's highest profile stars to promote the Super Bowl, scheduled to air on CBS on Feb. 3.

However, some crazies are criticizing the network for what they maintain is an attempt to promote a gay agenda and insult Christianity.

Huh?

More after the jump.

If we had to pick one topic that is flooding our Facebook news feeds today, well obviously Prop. 8 being overturned would be the winner. But if we had to pick two that were in the midst of a Facebook frenzy, Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of Madonna’s Crazy For You is in definite competition for second, which is a rank neither of these ladies is used to having. Check out this collision of Super Bowl divas.

Everyone can simmer down now because the inspiration for Christina Aguilera's warbling and confused rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" has been revealed as Maya Rudolph's breathtaking interpretation from SNL in 2006.

Despite a foot-hockey or whatever it is game of EPIC proportions, a halftime show filled with more technical difficulties than when Grandma tries to use her Jitterbug and commercials that cost more than Kim Zolciak's wig collection, it seems like the Superbowl XLV moment gaining the most buzz in the blogosphere today is Christina Aguilera's flubbing of one line during her hyper-R&B rendition of The Star Spangled Banner

What Christina sang:

"What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming."

The correct lyrics:

"O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming."

Critics and polls (one poll boasted 75% of responders saying she blew it!) continue to rip her apart this morning, but Christina has already...

We pointed you to our favorite tongue-in-booty-cheek Superbowl commercial contender, courtesy of a ballsy (no pun intended) Doritos, a few weeks ahead of its intended airing last night on that pre-Glee event thing. Well, it seems the hunk and happy recipient of a cheesy-fingered reach-around is a proud gay man in real life! Makes us want to reach for a bag of chips...

So I'm either shaking because I haven't imbibed any sustenance since my liquid breakfast or because I'm a huge Yeah Yeah Yeahs fans and nearly fainted after listening to this leak from Glee's highly-anticipated post-Superbowl "Thriller" episode. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" mashed with "Heads Will Roll" performed by the cast of Glee? All gay hipsters can die now.

Heart it or hate it, Instincters?

We've already decided that this year's Superbowl will be the gayest hockeyball event yet. In that case, this proposed Doritos Superbowl ad would be speaking to the right audience.

Will Superbowl XLV be the gayest footbase or hockeyball or whatever event in sports history?

We've known for months that the most expensive episode yet of Glee will follow the Superbowl and include a high-school band rendition of "Thriller." But now HitFix has confirmed that Christina Aguilera has been picked to sing the national anthem at this year's event, kicking off what might just be the gayest night in sports (sorry, U.S. Figure Skating Championships).

It's not Xtina's first time performing in front of dozens of beefy, sweaty men; in 2000, Christina performed during the Superbowl half-time show, an honor that goes to The Black Eyed Peas this year.

The South Florida Raging Grannies (perhaps one of my favorite phrases I've ever had to write) won't take no crap from CBS anymore, and has decided to put down the Activia and pick up a song book, all in the name of pro-choice. The catalyst to get these gorgeous grannies off their plastic-covered sofas? CBS's close work with Focus on the Family to run a pro-life, anti-choice spot during the Superbowl.
