There aren't many souls who would defend Pastor Charles Worley's call for the extermination of gays by way of electrified fence encampments, but the handful of lost sheeple who would should be studied by science. Voting for Amendment One is now less than a week away in North Carolina, and a new survey from Public Policy Polling shows that opponents of the anti-gay measure still have their work cut out for them. 

We're only a few weeks away from learning the fate of Amendment One, the homophobic legislation looking to ban all legal recognition of same-sex couples in North Carolina. Both sides of the legislation sees their activists more fired up than ever about the issue in this final stretch ahead of the May 8 election, a passion that was apparent in a discussion hosted by MSNBC's Thomas Roberts Wednesday afternoon. Following the major Proposition 8 ruling made earlier this month by the Ninth District Court of Appeals, supporters of the discriminatory ban on marriage equality had two choices: elevate the case to the Supreme Court or present the case to a larger set of Ninth Circuit judges for review. According to reports, it appears that Prop 8 backers have made their decision.

Though she's received a bit of negative attention, Martha Boggs, the Knoxville, Tennessee restaurateur who refused to serve her state's most hateful homophobe, has mostly encountered support from across the country.
