We pinched ourselves when we woke this morning just to make sure the leaps and bounds of progress the LGBT community made on Election Night were real and not the stuff of our daiquiri dreams/blackout. 

While we still wait for a final call from Washington state, we can cheer on one of last night's biggest wins, the election of the first openly gay U.S. Senator in Wisconsin's Sen. Tammy Baldwin, as her victory speech is finally available online.

What's looking to be a historic night for the American LGBT community gets jumpstarted with Tammy Baldwin, whom multiple outlets have projected the winner of Wisconsin's U.S. Senate seat. With the win Baldwin becomes the very first openly gay U.S. Senator!

We updated a blog earlier with speculation that Congressman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) was planning to introduce a DOMA-repeal bill into the House next week. But as more details trickle in, this welcome news is certainly deserving of its own post, don't you think?

We've just learned that two other GLBT political heavyweights, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO), are introducing the legislation along with Rep. Nadler. As well as the three legislators, same-sex couples and notable human rights activists will gather on Tuesday morning, September 15 to officially announce the legislation. Intricacies of the Defense Of Marriage Act-repeal will come then, but we do know that it is said to be a full-repeal of the discriminatory...
