Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery—unless it comes in the form of a cheap Halloween wig on sale at Target. The legendary Miss Coco Peru decided to head to West Hollywood's big bulls eye retailer to investigate a wig that's eerily similar to her trademark 'do. Hilarity ensues.

It's hard to go wrong with a domestic mode of transportation that offers us a "lounge car," but now, thanks to two new gay-targeted ads that debuted in our recent newsletter emailed to subscribers, Amtrak is giving us another reason to ride the friendly rails!

Target may have slipped something on our finger last week with that cute ad, but it looks like it was nothing more than a promise ring.
As we were left dazzled by the same-sex wedding registry advertisement, the bullseye company quietly announced that it will remain neutral in fight against gay couples in Minnesota. Is "remaining neutral" on an issue of equality for a minority group tantamount to not supporting the equal rights of a minority group?
Follow the jump for the details and dive into the comments to dish on Target's latest LGBT-related move.

Tammie Brown, a RuPaul's Drag Race alum from way back in the prehistoric ages of season 1, has become the (expertly painted!) face of Allstate Insurance. The new ad continues a trend of major companies understanding that targeting and supporting the gay community is a better financial, political and moral move than bowing to the failed boycotts and objections of hate groups. Details follow.

We think this ad for General Motors' Chevrolet Volt is really clever and fun—and we have to admit, we love being the targeted demographic for a car company!
And why wouldn't we be?
According to a recent marketing survey, "Gay and lesbian consumers prefer fuel-efficient cars, account for 5% of new car purchases and have average household income in the six figures -- more than that of heterosexual households."
No wonder auto companies are now actively courting us! We put out!

We doubt this is the kind of controversy Target's looking for.
Newly "out" Frank Ocean released his album Channel Orange exclusively to iTunes on Monday night, one week prior to its scheduled release date. Based on this early release (or so they say), Target has decided that they will not be stocking Channel Orange.

Looks like other members of the media are highlighting what we've known all along. Targeting the gays is good for business!
US News & World Report released an interesting piece on the niche marketing efforts of companies like Bud Light, Absolut Vodka, and Wells Fargo that are investing their dollars in the nation's various Pride festivals.
The reason? When these companies visibly support us, we support them as consumers.
