The White House has just released a video message from Ambassador Susan Rice—U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations—addressing today's International Day Against Homophobia (as they address it, minus transphobia mentions). See the video and read the transcript below.

This morning, marking International Day Against Homphobia and Transphobia, the largest EU survey of hate crime and discrimination targeting members of the LGBT community in the 27-nation bloc and Croatia showed many live in fear and conceal their sexual identity. Details below.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer publication decided to take the low road in its coverage of the local murder of transgender woman Cemia Acoff. Referring to Cemia as "oddly dressed" and "it" in its reporting, the Plain Dealer is being called out by GLAAD and other groups for its outrageous lack of professionalism.

It's the time of year when we start to take stock of the past 12 months, and the news isn't always good. Take for instance the TransRespect Versus Transphobia Project, which released its 2012 statistics on Wednesday to display an unfortunate rise in transphobic murders. 

In a poorly drawn and offensive training pamphlet, a Tea Party group has instructed Virginia "poll watchers" to call out trans voters and deny them their legal right at the ballot box. 

Some transphobic and homophobic car fans have been blasting Toyota across the Internet after clips of a commercial for the new Auris only airing in Japan have hit the web. Check out what all the hubbub is about after the jump!

Following an outpouring of outrage yesterday over the treatment of transgender woman, Carmen Carrera, TLC has pulled the episode of Cake Boss that depicts her as a the punchline of a prank that ultimately mocks the transgender community.

It wasn't a smart move for Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin to hide her blatant transphobia behind accusations of rigging lofted against the Miss USA organization. When the story of Monnin's anti-trans attitude first came out last week, Donald Trump was suing mad and threatened to take legal action against the Miss USA loser. This week, he and the Miss USA organization made good on their promise.

Guess smart moves aren't exactly Miss Monin's forte.

Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin has gone all ladyfingers Carrie Prejean ever since Miss USA winner Olivia Culpo took the title tiara after coming out in support of transgender contestants.

While throwing a transphobic tantrum, Sheena announced she's had enough of the Miss USA organization (but later sidestepped that excuse to say she's resigning due to the event "being rigged"). 

Just when it seemed like he was starting to pull his head out of his dimpled ass, Bill O'Reilly had to go and rejoin his pinhead club. Lucky for what we assume to be a tightly clenched old man booty short on real estate, Bill O's latest anti-gay comments are a reminder of just how small-minded the Fox News host is. Details follow. 

Readers of Variety today opened the pages of the Hollywood publication to find a stern message from GLAAD and HRC asking folks to tell ABC that Work It (the alphabet network's upcoming sitcom which the groups find transphobic) doesn't work. Clever, but will the campaign work? More after the jump.
