We're not sure why he's chiming in anyway, since he won't ever be fighting Fallon Fox, but UFC fighter Matt Mitrione made an ass of himself on Monday when he went on a vitriolic rant against transgender female fighter Fallon Fox.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour, Mitrione called Fallon Fox a "lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak."

Sadly it doesn't end there. See what else Mitrione had to say after the jump.

Updated Monday, 3:10 p.m. (PST)

HuffPo reached out to us to let us know that the original post was removed. In its place was this Editor's Note:

"This entry has been removed from The Huffington Post. In reporting actress Sofia Vergara’s comments comparing her appearance to that of a transgender individual, the story adopted an inappropriate tone. We regret the error and apologize to anyone who was offended."

As a progressive site, it seems like they could have put a little more effort in explaining why the original post was inappropriate. At the very least, it would help to deter speech like that from occurring again.

Greg Grunberg, the actor who portrays Officer Matt Parkman on Heroes, has gotten himself into a messy controversy after posting a Chaz Bono-related Tweet.

The Tweets that have some in the GLBT community offended:

The Bilerico Project's Rebecca Juro was the first to report on Grunberg's Twitter posts, labeling them transphobic, but not attacking the actor with too many punches. Grunberg received wind of the offense his Tweets provoked, and personally responded to Juro maintaining that he was referring to Chaz's weight and not status as a transgender individual.

But we want to hear what you think. Do you find Grunberg's Tweets offensive?
