Okay, relax, France.

In the wake of the French government's legalization of marriage equality, those that oppose same-sex marriage have taken to the interwebs.

But they're not just stopping at denouncing their legislation. Homophobic tweets, including those calling for the death of gays are suddenly trending in the country.

Mon dieu!! More after the jump.

Men donning skirts and tights (separately or complementary) is certainly not sartorial groundbreaking. Eighteenth century aristocrats, for starters, not to mention flirtations in the fashion world periodically since the 1980s have seen adventurous souls with XY chromosomes courting these boldly ambiguous pieces.

But thanks to a few big name celebrities cosigning the looks like Justin Bieber and Kanye West (who performed at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night wearing a leather skirt and leather male leggings a.k.a. meggings), the "traditionally feminine" items are officially hyped and co-opted by men this season. Are you on board with the look that's already taken over Manhattan, London & Paris and threatens to spread to other cosmopolitan...

Straight men may be the first to line up at the ball park but they are more often than not the last to get in on the fashion game. Just as the highly groomed gay leftover look from yesteryear continues to proliferate among the hetero population, so too has our dated preference for epilation. The New York Times today exposed the newest metrosexual trend: Brazilian waxes for men.

Some folks combined their hate of gays with their hate of Valentines Day to come up with the global trending Twitter topic, #FagDay. It's a little shocking because one just assumes the responsible dbags are so brainless that they can't even add simple maths like the above equation! But lo, the addition somehow slipped into the No. 3 trending topic on the social network this morning.

If you, like us, woke up this morning with a blinding hangover to a litany of Facebook and Twitter updates claiming "Prop 8 was Overturned!," then allow us to take on a role we NEVER assume: the lucid one tasked with pulling the plug on the party. Unfortunately, kids, the article that caused the premature exhilaration amounting to one big social network bukkake is a 16-month old Huffington Post story. Seems someone misread and posted the outdated article to Facebook early Friday before it spread like digital wildfire.
