It's official: our current cover guy Adam Lambert has made history by becoming Billboard's first openly gay chart topper! With Adam's second album Trespassing taking the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Top 200 and the Billboard Digital Albums charts, the pop star becomes the first artist to achieve the top position after coming out of the closet.

We now have our eyes wide open with impatience after seeing our current cover guy Adam Lambert's teaser preview for the "Never Close Our Eyes" music video. We love the new single, and, judging by the futuristic flavor previewed, we'll likely love the video too. Check out the teaser after the jump!

At least that's what we told our higher-ups when we returned from a long lunch, head still bobbing from both listening to Adam Lambert's upbeat new album Trespassing (out today) and the one or four Mimosas we imbibed alongside our grass-fed grass and free-range endive salad. (Don't judge—we totes agree with you! We binged way too much at lunch considering Speedo season starts in a matter of weeks!)

This week, however, we get to devour the entire scope of Adam's dance floor remodeling with the Bruno Mars and Dr. Luke produced electronic doozy, "Never Close Our Eyes." 

Adam Lambert, who's pompadour first blipped on our gaydar with his glam rock inspirations on American Idol, is ready to evolve. For his next LP (titled Trespassing), Adam tells Rolling Stone that he "hopes to find his voice," and has tapped beat pioneers like Pharrell and Britney's right-hand-man Dr. Luke to show him the way.
