The Washington Post published an interesting piece questioning the role of LGBT-centered churches in a world that appears to be rapidly progressing with regards to gay rights. 

The piece specifically highlights the Metropolitan Community Church, founded by Troy Perry in 1968. MCC reportedly has more than 240 congregations and ministries around the world.

Even more good news to report from the landmark Election Night! Voters in Troy, Michigan delivered the pink slip to their now-former homophobic mayor, Janice Daniels. You'll recall that Daniels stumbled into the national spotlight when she vowed to throw away all her Chinese-made I <3 NY merchandise after the Empire State legalized marriage equality.

Turns out that position didn't work out so well for Daniels!

Remember Canada?

It's been awhile since we've taken a history course, but if we dust off our middle school textbooks and flip through the pages once again we'll be reminded of the great civilization of Canada was wiped off the map because it allowed same-sex couples to enter into a legal civil contract together. "Worse than the A-bomb," the headlines read according to history books. 

Except that NEVER happened. Someone should kindly inform lady's man of the moment Rep. Todd Akin, who believes that marriage equality destroys civilizations. Check out Rep. "Legitimate Rape" Akin's comments about the gays after the jump. 

Even with the threat of a recall looming, Troy, Michigan Mayor Janice Daniels continues to put any chance of a hairdresser fixing that mess atop her head at risk with bigoted homosexuality comparisons.

Promoters in Indonesia have offered Lady Gaga an olive branch after local police refused to grant them a permit to bring the Born This Way Ball tour to Jakarta. If Mother Monster tones down her shows and makes alterations approved by the heavily religious society, say the reinvigorated promoters, Jakarta's leaders will let her perform. Greeting the news with a shrug of her pointed prosthetic shoulders, Gags and her team have refused to censor the BTW ball. Details follow.
