Been dying to see more of Anderson Cooper? While this morsel of entertainment news might not exactly satisfy that urge, word that the big AC plans to increase the intelligence/handsome ratio of daytime TV is certainly welcome in our open arms. And, because of his contract with CNN, the pending daytime show -- still in negotiations -- will ensure that our beloved Coop is on air day and night! He'll be the silver-haired She-crest!
If producers can snag Kathy Griffin as a co-host, our regularly DVR-d telenovelas might have some serious competition for timeslot recording space...

Do you feel TV getting gayer? And no, it has nothing to do with the upcoming premiere of Logo's The A-List. Today alone we've blogged about three different shows with large amounts of gay visibility. Media watchdog group GLAAD put some science behind the increasingly gay-ification of American TV to discover that shows are indeed stocking up on GLB(but no T, folks) characters in this year's Where Are We On TV Report.
According to GLAAD:
After more than doubling last year, the overall number of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) characters on broadcast networks continues a steady rise, though broadcast networks still report no transgender or black LGBT characters.
The report shows that 23 LGBT characters will account for 3.9% ... FULL STORY

Brad Goreski, the openly-gay stylemaker who earned his own following from Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project, has announced his resignation from the styling business owned by the show's titular character to pursue his own endeavors.
Says Rachel, who is very familiar with splitsville (she regularly battles the chronic illness of split-ends on the show) and calls the loss "major" (if the cast of the reality show tries to make that word stick one more time, I swear... FULL STORY

After a summer of sPECulation (emphasis on Trevor Donovan's pecs, thank you very much), it was revealed that Donovan's character, the token jock, would be coming out of the closet this season on Beverly Hills 90210. While our Mary Minds were overwhelmed with ensuing fantasies, little did we know that castmate Michael Steger had hoped the homo honor would be all his.
Steger tells Hollywood Life, “I think I would have approached it organically and honestly. I would have been excited!"
"Trevor Donovan has a pretty amazing storyline coming up and I think that is going to be really cool to see how it unfolds. I would have approached it in a similar way and obviously allow it to grow through the storytelling.”

Our DVR’s were more full last year than they had been since Queer As Folk re-aired on Logo, thanks to the two gayest (and greatest) shows on TV: Glee and Modern Family. While we immerse ourselves in the beginning of the second season of the two iconic network offerings, why not get a bit nostalgic with the new DVDs featuring their first seasons! After all, thanks to a healthy liquid diet and allergy to calories, our short term memories are sub par at best, and remembering where our obsession with the two TV hits through these DVDs sounds like a nice trip down memory lane…

Last night's "The Word" segment on The Colbert Report tackled Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and host Stephen Colbert's trademark satire was rampant, genius and ultimately enlightening. Colbert's biggest point? Being forced to lead a double life for years has given gay soldiers the perfect training for top-secret military missions.
