Though the gayest U.S. state happens to be whichever one we're in at the time, Gallup has a different idea thanks to a massive 200,000 person study. While the rainbow might shine brightest in D.C., Gallup notes that these kinds of studies always include the caveat of people possibly not answering truthfully. The Uniting American Families Act—legislation that seeks to allow gay and lesbian Americans to sponsor their international partners for U.S. residency—was reintroduced into Congress on Tuesday. For the first time in the bill's history, the reintroduction included support from GOP lawmakers in the form of co-sponsors Reps. Richard Hanna (NY) and Charlie Dent (PA).

This past August the U.S. Department of the Navy quietly updated its policy, which now allows HIV-positive Sailors and Marines to take overseas assignments and serve on select large ship platforms.

The move was so quiet, in fact, that it's just become known to the public. 

Prior to the policy change, HIV-positive servicemembers were forbidden from stepping foot on foreign soil, including during peace time and in non-combat zones.

Americans age 15 to 64 should be receive regular HIV tests as they do for cholesterol, according to new guidelines issued by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.

The Vatican, bruised from the historic outpouring of love that brought victory to the big four marriage equality battles earlier this month, won't go down without a fight. Vatican Spokesman Father Federico Lombardi has made it clear that Catholic Church heirarchy are pissed off at the majorities of Americans who voted for love. To save humanity from the slippery slope that marriage equality has caused all around the world (ahem), the Big Man wearing the lace dress and chiffon robe will amp up the fight for the "privileged recognition" of opposite-sex marriage.

We pinched ourselves when we woke this morning just to make sure the leaps and bounds of progress the LGBT community made on Election Night were real and not the stuff of our daiquiri dreams/blackout. 

While we still wait for a final call from Washington state, we can cheer on one of last night's biggest wins, the election of the first openly gay U.S. Senator in Wisconsin's Sen. Tammy Baldwin, as her victory speech is finally available online.
