The Ukrainians aren't going to let the Russians have all of the anti-gay fun!

Ukrainian lawmakers have tentatively approved a bill that will give jail time to individuals that disseminate positive information about gays.

A bill has been introduced in Ukraine that "would impose prison terms of up to five years and unspecified fines for spreading 'propaganda of homosexuality' – defined as positive public depiction of gays in public."

The bill is apparently supported by Ukranian President Viktor Yanukovych's representative in parliament Yuri Meroshnichenko, leading many to believe that the president may support it as well.

We never liked the sound of the Ukraine's proposed "Gay Gag Rule."

First of all, gays don't gag, honey. We shouldn't have to explain further. Second, banning citizens from speaking favorably of their LGBT neighbors, family and friends was just bullshit.

Elton John and his husband David Furnish are proud pappas! The two welcomed a baby boy, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, to the world on Christmas Day in California. The baby was reportedly born via surrogate. 

Elton and David attempted to adopt a toddler from the Ukraine last year, but were denied because the country does not view them as being traditionally married.

Congrats to the new dads!

Quickly becoming a respectable international representative for the GLBT community, Sir Elton John's latest announcement leaves us swooning.

Sure, the Ukraine refused to allow Elton and partner David Furnish adoption of an adorable little citizen on account of the couple's acute gayness, but the superstar pair refuse to let a bit of bigotry get in the way of the future of the child they fell in love with.
