So, Lady Gaga turned 24 over the weekend. And aside from making me feel fairly unaccomplished (as I turn the ripe age of 25), it also made me a little annoyed.
I'll be honest, I was never fully on the Gaga Express. Don't get me wrong: like her music, seen her live, find her some-what interesting—but I never fully bought it. Really, I questioned a lot of it. Call me jaded (again, at the ripe age of 25) but I just figured a lot of it was bullshit staging for shock value.
Go figure it would take a YouTube video for it to all sink in. Ryan James Yezak put out a call for Gaga fans to help assemble the world's biggest birthday card, and what he got in return was an amazing collection of people from around the world showing genuine gratitude... FULL STORY

Tags: dragonette, fixin to thrill, easy, video, new music, little boots, instinct We are hooked on Canadian band Dragonette right now! We discovered them while they were opening for Little Boots recently (speaking of which, her interview with Instinct will be live online tomorrow!), and we've been in love ever since. Lucky for us the band released a brand new video this week for their single "Easy" off their latest album, Fixin To Thrill.
The track is hauntingly beautiful. Lead singer Martina is the perfect blend of Karen O meets Peaches with just a hint of Shirley Manson. The whole album is near perfection. Check out "Easy" below:

Tags: lady gaga, sellout, whats your instinct, telephone, music video Our Beloved Lady of the Gays might be in danger of selling out, claims some disgruntled post-"Telephone" fans. The video, released a few weeks back (which you can watch here) and already soaring in the double-digit millions on YouTube, pushes not one but seven corporate products, including Miracle Whip, Wonderbread, Chanel, Hewlitt Packard and Polaroid.
This begs us to ask you, fair Instincters, is Lady Gaga's affinity for product placement a suave business Instinct in the free-music era, or is it plain and simply selling out?

Before the heinous Proposition 8 was slimly voted into law in California, iconic guitarist Slash and his wife Perla Ferrar posted a video on YouTube asking Californians to vote no on the homophobic measure. In the video, Perla did the schmoozing while Slash remained in the background, silent but for his guitar. In the aftermath of both the video and the passage of Prop 8, the unashamedly macho idol of many men worldwide received complaints and an anti-gay backlash for posting the message of equality. It only intensified his resolve.
But the time has come for Slash to ditch his guitar and vocalize his support for marriage equality. In an interview with The Quietus, Slash reaffirms his allegiance to the GLBT community, saying that “the laws... FULL STORY
