Look out Angelenos, it looks like the WeHo nightlife scene is getting a new neighbor (and he's HUGE). 

David Cooley, creator of the Abbey, just signed a lease on a 10,000 square foot Santa Monica Blvd. space and it sounds like it could soon be the new talk of the town.

Meningitis has claimed another gay man in Southern California, we've learned today.

Following the death of 33-year old West Hollywood attorney Brett Shaad (and its controversial handling by WeHo officials) comes news that the late-2012 death of Rjay Spoon, a gay man who lived in downtown Los Angeles, is attributed to meningitis.

Updated Friday at 6:30 p.m. PST:

Sadly the news we have been reporting on all day has taken a turn for the worse, as the AP is reprting the 33-year-old diagnosed with meningitis has been declared brain dead by doctors and is on life support. This corrects earlier reports by local L.A. media said the patient, Brett Shaad, had died Friday afternoon. 

NBCLA reports that the victim had attended White Party in Palm Springs just a few weeks ago, with West Hollywood city councilman John Duran adding, "If this resident was in fact in attendance at the White Party, it raises the issue, so we want to get the word out to any gay men that were at the White Party, that if they have any of these symptoms, go see their physician...

West Hollywood, California has topped (and presumably bottomed) a new poll from SeekingArrangements.com that tracked how many of its 11,000  active gay members join dating websites primarily looking for casual sex in specific cities. 

The site has named WeHo as the United States' most promiscuous destination. Yay!(?)
