A Russian judge has given a middle finger to international gay athletes by ruling that the modern tradition of a Pride House in Olympic cities will not find a home at the 2014 games in Sochi. Why? Because the judge has determined that an inclusive spot welcoming international athletes would harm children and end Russia as we know it. Details follow.

Tags: primal instinct, winter olympics, johnny weir Seeing as how the Olympics end this weekend (noooo!), this will be our final Olympic Edition of Primal Instinct. And so, last but not least, we had to give it up for the true diva on the ice, the guy all that daddies are a twitter over, Johnny Weir.
Totally robbed at judging this year, Johnny may not have made it to the podium—but he skated his ass off! Bravo Johnny!
And just think of it this way guys, we’re that much closer to 2012 Summer!!

Tags: primal instinct, winter olympics Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme...well, you know how the rest goes. But where did the American 4-man bobsledding team find a guy like Justin Olsen?!
Either straight out of an Abercrombie catalog or down south in Texas. Either way, at 6'2" and push 225 pounds, this guy is pure muscle (and does quite a job of filling out that suit, huh?)
He's the one on the left, fyi...

One quick look at his ripped Olympic body and it's easy to see why he's one of our favorite's, too...

Tags: primal instinct, winter olympics, apolo ohno The soul patch has always been a little hit or miss for us, but there's no denying that there is something cute about speed skater Apolo Ohno. Maybe it's all that hardware around his neck as he just became the most decorated winter olympian ever.
Or maybe the fact that he stands up (and strips down) for the Red campaign...
The tight body suits?
Oh, who are we kidding. It's probably his track recording of taking his clothes off.

At the risk of encouraging his haters, sixth-place Olympic finisher Johnny Weir has come forward with a big decision weighing upon him: whether or not to retire from skating to pursue a career in fashion.
Weir, arguably America’s figure skating darling in the Vancouver 2010 games, sparked a dialog across the country this week (even here on the Instinct blog) for everything from a public fight with PETA, to a public fight with gold-medal-winner Evan Lysacek, to his Olympic costumes – which he designed, of course.
“I am going to skate in the World Championships and then I have to decide how long I want to stay on vacation,” Weir told Yahoo! Sports. “In figure skating your body can only last for so long. I can’t be 50 and trying... FULL STORY

Tags: ted legity, primal instinct, 2010 winter olympics Though his events keep getting postponed due to weather, we wanted to show alpine skier Ted Ligety a little Primal Instinct love. Aside from being a world-class skier, Ted also owns his own ski and board accessory line, Shred Optics, based off his nickname "Shred."
Not to mention he's Malibu surfer cute, despite hailing from Salt Lake City.
The American already took home gold in the 2006 games and now hopes to repeat in Vancouver.
But don't be fooled by the model looks, Ted can still produce the kinds of photos we really like here at Instinct: shirtless and boozed.

Tags: primal instinct, winter olympics, bryce davison The cute athletes just don't stop coming! Though he and his partner may not have made it to the medal stand the other night during pairs skating (they came in sixith), we'd give Bryce Davison a medal or two for heating up the ice!
American-born Canadian pairs skater Bryce Davison may unfortunately be most known for the freak accident in which he slashed his partners face with his blade while skating a while back. Yet the pair still vowed to return to this year's games in their home country, and did their country proud with a great performance.
And though all has been forgiven in regards to that awful skating accident, we're not sure we can forgive this unfortunate choice in costume...

Tags: primal instinct, olympics, vancouver, winter games, austrian, hotties, dominik landertiger It's not just the term biathelete that turns us on, it's Austrian military servicemember Dominick Landertinger's inclusion in the sport that kicks it up a notch, too.
The 6'2", blue-eyed 22-year-old is a shining (as in smile, look at that thing!) example why the Winter Olympics shouldn't be overlooked when on the hunt for hot jocks.
