With more committed couples in the GLBT community becoming parents, we thought it’d be appropriate to let you know about a new company emerging out of Omaha, Nebraska (of all places!)… A production company there called US 2 Limited claims to be developing the first cartoon for kiddies with same-sex parents.
Sources say Buddy G: My Two Moms And Me will include state-of-the-art animation on its DVD slated for release in time for holiday gift-giving. No previews were released, but let’s hope that the stories of five-year-old Buddy G and his two mommies offer a much-needed positive portrayal for youngsters in such homes, and that the DVDs reach a large and wide audience. (No website or firm release date is currently available).
This is super-cool for any number of reasons, but mostly because it gives children growing up with two moms or two dads an example of a family they can relate to. We say kudos! Now let’s hope it’s great education and entertainment packaged together for kiddies.

This may just be a rumor, but who knows with Hollywood? According to OK Magazine (by way of Defamer), a sequel to Brokeback Mountain may be in the works.
"Although we won't be seeing his pal Jake Gyllenhaal, 26,
Heath Ledger, 28, is currently in negotiations to reprise his role as
Ennis.
'It will follow the nasty process
of being openly gay in 1963 Wyoming,' an insider tells OK!. 'Ennis will
finally come out of the closet.'"
Hmm…something sounds a little fishy here (as Defamer pointed out, the movie ends in 1983), but if Hollywood's bent on remaking and sequelizing everything under the sun, why not trash a beloved classic like Brokeback? Better to do it now than 30 years later when it's "reimagined" with all-new actors. And maybe in the sequel, Heath will find a true love who doesn't fall victim to tragedy…or Anne Hathaway's blonde wig.
(Although I'm really hoping the wig at least makes a cameo.)

The Food and Drug Administration decided yesterday to include a warning on all Viagra labels (as well as other impotence drugs that work the same way, including Cialis and Levitra) that users may experience sudden hearing loss.
Although the FDA stated that they could not conclusively prove a connection, 29 people have reported hearing loss within one hour to two days of taking one of the drugs, which was enough to alarm FDA physicians. The reports involved hearing loss in one ear; one third of the cases were temporary. More:
Viagra's label already mentioned
hearing loss as a possibility, because a few cases were reported during initial
testing of that drug. But given that hearing loss is a risk of advancing age and
certain conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease, that can lead to
impotence, it wasn't clear if the link was real.
Seems like further proof -- in addition to studies that have shown how gay men abuse Viagra, leading to higher STD transmission rates -- that if you don't need it, don't take it.
