With Christmas around the corner and Hanukkah in full swing there are precious few shopping days left. If you're anything like me, I promise myself every year to get my shopping done in August and kick back while the rest of the world fights over the "it" gift of the season. And every year, without fail, I find myself tearing my hair out Christmas Eve, desperately trying to find a gift that doesn't scream, “I waited until the last minute, I hope you like this crappy thing I found on an half-empty shelf at a gas station!” This holiday season, that will not happen! I've found surefire gifts that will be sure to please even your most difficult loved one. So get shopping and prepare yourself for squeals of delight...

Oh, Katie Holmes. America’s favorite girl next door turned tranquilized mom-bot turned “not without my daughter” Scientology refugee. We feel for you girl—you’re a long way from the creek. It must have been tough being the world’s most famous celebrity beard. At least you got some pretty fierce outfits and a designer baby out of the deal, right? Now that our little Joey Potter has hung up her golden trimmers as the #1 Beard in America, it’s time for a few new contenders to put their whiskers in the ring.

Sometimes you just need to talk woman to woman, and that’s exactly what Keyshia Cole is doing on her newly released album of the same name. But us gays know heartbreak and soul aren't confined to just the ladies. The R&B star knows the struggles of working hard for a successful career, maintaining healthy relationships and the importance of not letting random Tweets from strangers get her down. But appreciating friends (and fans!) for their differences? That’s where she clearly shines.

Remember that warm, fuzzy feeling you got as a kid when you tried on your dad’s suit jacket? Those elbow-patched sleeves hung practically to the floor, making you look all goofy and sweet. Super cute right?! Yeah—not so much anymore.

You’re a grown man now. Fit matters. Unless your profession is of the Chris Farley “fat guy in a little coat” variety, there is no reason for wearing goofy-fit clothing. Today’s world is full of beautifully tailored clothing options for men at a variety of price points. There literally is no excuse any more for buying a suit, dress shirt or really any garment that isn’t at least sized to fit your body type.

For those of you a few years into your careers now and about ready—emotionally and ...

November is a big month around the Instinct offices. It is, of course, our anniversary month (as if you couldn’t tell by now). And it’s traditionally Instinct’s Leading Men Issue as well. But this November obviously marked a major moment for our country, with this week’s presidential election. Needless to say, with all the debates and commercials and candidate pushing, I was feeling a little extra patriotic as of late and felt it was only fitting for us to do an editorial with a political slant for Instinct's November issue.

A Fine Frenzy (AKA Alison Sudol) has written some of our favorite heartbreak songs of relationships past. And after a few years of seclusion, the phenom is back with her third full-length release, PINES. We caught up with Ali while she’s on the road for a nationwide tour with Joshua Radin to find out where she’s been the past few years, the inspiration behind the fantastic new single, “Now Is The Start” and how exactly someone records an album in a tree-filled studio in just one week—sometimes even on just one mic!

Mark Simpson coined the term “metrosexual” in 1994 in The Independent, branding a growing group of men—presumably straight—that were taking on the trends of gay men everywhere. These metros were waxing their eyebrows, shaving their chests and  (gasp!) even spraying on their tans. Like wildfire the metros spread everywhere causing gay men and straight women mass confusion. It was man-demonium.

October is my favorite month of the year. Born and raised in New England, I love the change of seasons. As temperatures dip there's an inexplicable joy I get pulling out all my cold-weather sweaters and jackets. I am, after all, a fashionisto and any excuse I can get to buy or wear new clothing makes me the happiest man on the planet. In addition, each year I have a Halloween costume party where I get to see all my nearest and dearest in all sorts of wild and crazy costumes.

As Instinct's fashion director, I now have one more joy I can add to the pile of favorite things the month of October brings me. That's right, Instincter's, our...
