Bea Miller and Jessie Reyez have released a new track and music video called “Feels Like Home.”
For Miller, this song is the first in a series of collaborations with other artists. In fact, the next few projects are set to drop over the coming weeks. But Miller’s “Feels Like Home” got our attention for its sweet lyrics and important video.
The song’s lyrics talk of finding love so special that it becomes your entire world. The lyrics emphasize the magic of finding a lover that “feels like home.” Or as the Chorus for the song go:
“If you ask me where I’m from
I say, ‘You,’ ’cause you feel like home
Ask me, ‘Is this love?’
I say, ‘I feel it in my bone’
I need you to know the feelings new
But if you ask me where I’m from
I say, ‘You,’ ’cause you feel like home”
As for the music video, it was directed by Phillip Soulliere and co-directed by Bea Miller herself (and in her first time directing). The video itself is bold for depicting two different kinds of LGBTQ couples. The two groups, one polyamorous couple between a woman and two men and one lesbian couple, deal with the ups and downs of relationships. The video shows these couples going “from the honeymoon phase, to inevitable conflict and ultimately the grand redemption of knowing it was all meant to be.”
