A pair of Levi’s jeans and a pair of ranch-hand gloves worn by Heath in the film Brokeback Mountain went up for auction on Thursday, August 28. The New York Post reported that the bidding will begin at a measly $15,000.

The blue jeans, a pair of Levi’s 501 XX sized with a 34-inch waist, come worn in with scuffs of dirt, “as would have been the case for a Wyoming ranch hand”, according to Los Angeles based auctioneer Nate D. Sanders

The brown gloves have the name ENNIS written inside each with black marker. Ennis was the character Heath played in the Ang Lee directed movie that was recently added to the National Film Registry.

Heath earned his first Oscar nomination in 2006 for his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Williams, who played his love interest and wife respectively in the critically acclaimed film, scored acting nods as well.

The movie focuses on Ennis and Jack Twist’s (Gyllenhaal) forbidden and secretive relationship and how that transpired over the years. Brokeback sits at 87 percent fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.7 overall rating on IMDb fourteen years after its initial release.

Heath died on January 22, 2008 of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 28. He won Best Supporting Actor posthumously at the 2009 Academy Awards for his work in The Dark Knight
