Gotham City seems to be getting a makeover as possible casting details for The Batman continue to emerge. It’s been reported by The Root that Juilliard graduate Jayme Lawson has been cast in the upcoming project, possibly in the much sought after role of Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl.
One of the biggest stories surrounding the film is that the story will be heavily influenced by Batman: The Long Halloween (according to recent comments by Director Kevin Smith). This storyline was heavy on the mystery, and was pivotal in establishing how many of us see some of Batman’s most notorious villains today.
With Jeffrey Wright alleged to have been cast as Alfred Pennyworth, Zoe Kravitz confirmed to be portraying Catwoman and now Lawson possibly portraying one of our favorite heroines of Gotham City, The Batman casting is proving be almost as intriguing as the film will most definitely be.
