We now have the first look of the upcoming gay tv movie starring Jake Borelli.
Last November, we shared with you the fact that Grey’s Anatomy star Jake Borelli would be starring in a tv gay romance comedy film. The Freeform movie, titled The Thing About Harry, will star Borelli and newcomer Niko Terho.
The synopsis goes:
“Borelli will play Sam, a handsome, funny, neurotic, intelligent young gay man who combines a scathing wit with an overly idealistic worldview. Sam came out when he was still in high school, something that took a lot of courage in his small Missouri town, but was bullied constantly. Terho will portray Harry, an emotionally uncomplicated, promiscuous player who has always left a string of broken hearts in his wake. Under the surface, Harry actually yearns for love, family and stability, but the thought of commitment still terrifies him.”
I just got to watch a cut of #TheThingAboutHarry & I’m FREAKING OUT about how good this movie is gonna be! @ThePeterPaige you’ve changed the way I view myself as a member of the queer community & I can’t tell you what a gift this film is to me & everyone who’ll get to watch it.

Ever since the tv movie was announced, Jake Borelli has expressed his joy at being a part of the film. As he shared on Twitter on Monday:
“I’m still struggling to find the words to explain how much this movie means to me. Peter Paige [the director and co-writer] took the classic rom-com genre and by making the leads queer, he made this special special movie. If it had been around when I was a teenager, I would have had very different ideas about who I could become as a gay person. And now, it gives me so much hope as to the types of stories we can tell as members of the LGBTQ community. And just the fact that this film has been backed by Disney since it’s very beginning is groundbreaking.”
We’re just as excited as Jake Borelli for this tv movie, and we don’t have long to wait. The Thing About Harry will debut on Freefrom February 15. Until then, watch the sneak peek clip below.
