We need to talk more about men's health. Every man's health. We recently did a post,"Movember: It's Trendy, But Why Do We Do It? What is behind the facial hair phenomenon?" where we were excited that the Movember campaign was adding men's overall health to the original cause, Prostate cancer.
Talking about health, feelings, emotions can be the beginning to betterment. Greatist.com shares with us a moving honest video about men and the last time they cried.
Boys
don'tcry. It's totally normal. What's really sad is that we need to point this out. Alas, we live in a society that tells men to hide their tears (and emotions), which makes the #BoysDoCry campaign from The Huffington Post U.K. so important. In this awesome video, more than a dozen guys answer the question, "When was the last time you cried?" The question is simple, but answering it is a big deal considering men grow up learning they need to be strong and tough, not emotional. As the video points out, that kind of attitude has a serious impact on men's mental health—guys are three times more likely to commit suicide than women. – greatist.com
It's okay to have emotions no matter what kind of man you are. Let's talk about being men, cry if we want to, celebrate being men, and celebrate living.
