We all love free money, no? Of course we do. And Facebook is apparently sending us all checks for the holidays!
Well, not all of us. Over the past few days friends have been raising the question as to why they have received a check from Facebook. These checks are not going out to everyone, but just people Facebook has apparently wronged in the past. A class action lawsuit has finally been settled against Facebook. The reason. Apparently the book facing company used some people's images for advertisements and promotions on its website.
Do you run out and cash these checks? Are they legit? I've received fake checks in the past, but apparently these are real, 15 bucks real.
Images are popping up of these checks. Some are adding their own thoughts about why they received them from the social media company.
The lawsuit, Fraley vs. Facebook launched in 2011 when 5 plaintiffs accused the company of using the likeness of people without consent and pictures of people under 18 without parental permission.
The case was settled after 2 years but appeals kept the checks from being issued.
I'm going to check my mail right now.
Did you get a check from Daddy Zuckerberg ?
