Markcus is getting ready to release a new single titled SXW, meaning “sexy wolves,” which features rapper Kotic Couture.

The song is meant to represent the struggles of online dating. As he told Gay Star News, gay dating apps like Grindr and Scruff are the, “only place we have to really truly connect with people like us especially if you are not out.”

But the song also carries a much darker message. It explains the risks and dangers found on these apps. Specifically, it explores the horrors known as f***boys.

The single isn't out yet, but is set to release on February 8th.

We introduced Instinct readers to Leon Markcus in 2017 after his song “Alive” became popular with Eastern and LGBTQ music lovers.

The 22-year-old singer, who identifies as bisexual, hopes to represent LGBTQ people while making great music.

“I truly believe that they deserve to have the freedom to appreciate and love their partners in the light instead of hiding in the shadows. It is a cold world here for for these youths,” he said in 2017.

“And I though, I love my home, I also want my friends to be able feel at ease as well as to appreciate a place that accepts them for who they are without being denying their basic rights to love.”

“Everyone deserves equal opportunities for happiness. No one, should ever be made to feel like they don’t belong or they are undeserving of the life they are given.”

Markcus also hopes to express himself through his art. One fact of his life that he hopes to truly represent is his struggle with mental health.

“I am currently battling with anorexia nervosa. It’s a pretty important topic… it is a challenge that both men and women might face and equal emphasis should be placed for both,” he told reporter Shannon Power.

“I am also very open about my struggles with my eating disorder because I don’t want to be ashamed of it.”

From bubblegum pop to electronic sounds with a message, Markcus is committed to himself, LGBTQ people, and his music. And we look forward to hearing more.
