From the moment the ball dropped on 2019 last year, people immediately began floating around the internet meme of broadcasting icon and “The View” maven & creator Barbara Walters saying her iconic “And this is 2020” line, introducing the legendary Friday night talk show that she hosted for decades with Hugh Downs. This year, someone even released a mashup of Walters saying it in rapid fire, which made the internet rounds earlier this week.
It still came as a surprise to many though, when Barbara Walters herself (in the form of Saturday NIght Live alum and razor sharp Barbara Walters impersonator) appeared on CNN with hosts Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper, to give her thoughts on the New Year, as well as her surprising future career plans.
Oteri, a frequent guest on Jeff Lewis Live on Cohen’s Radio Andy channel on Sirius/XM, name checked current pop culture names like Lizzo & Greta Thunberg, cheekily mentioned Walters’ former View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, and and poked fun at both Cooper and Cohen, Cooper for one, could barley hold himself together, laughing hysterically during the extent of Oteri’s surprise and scene stealing appearance. And yes, she delivered the iconic “2020” line more than once.
