Anti-Gay Visitor Stomps On LGBT Pride Flag Outside Of CA Rep’s D.C. Office.

 

Representative Alan Lowenthal shared some disturbing news on his Facebook page earlier today.  Proudly carrying the voice of the California's 47th District to the Washington D.C., he had some upsetting news to share about an incident that occured at his office.  Not everyone can human or adult.

“Yesterday, an individual barged into my office in Washington and made a disparaging remark about the fact that I fly the Pride Flag outside my office,” Lowenthal explained in a Facebook post. “He then went back out into the hallway outside my office, removed the flag from its holder, threw it to the ground, and stomped on it. He told my staff that the flag was ‘disgusting, immoral, and goes against everything that is right.'” – salon.com

Lowenthal's office may have been targeted since he is the vice chairman of the Congressional LGBT Equality Congress. he was not personally present when the incident occurred.

The Capitol police discussed the incident with the perpetrator at Lowenthal’s office, but he was released since he didn’t break any laws or rules. The man initially left the area after stomping on the flag, but Lowenthal’s staffers followed him down the hallway and persuaded him to return.

    This headline didn't need the word "anti-gay" at the beginning of it. The pride flag represents more than just gay men, and using the term "gay" when you are talking about the entire LGBT+ community erases the majority of us.
