Blake Mitchell Admits He Prefers Working In Gay Vs. Straight Porn

In a new video posted to his YouTube channel, porn star Blake Mitchell opens up about being bisexual and how that affects his career choices.

After a few starts and stops (as the host of my own podcast I can relate – it’s sometimes hard to ‘just talk'), Mitchell gets to the subject at hand – bisexuality.

“I see more and more guys and girls openly identifying as bisexual because previously, especially in the LGBT community, it has been before that the ‘B’ is silent,” says Mitchell. “And it’s like, ‘Yeah, you’re part of the LGBT, but only halfway.’”

“I often felt in the past if I was dating a guy, then my LGBT card was a little stronger, or people viewed that as more legitimate,” admits the 23-year-old. “And whenever I was dating a girl, it was just instantly, ‘Oh, you’re straight – now.’”

Mitchell also wonders if ‘pansexual’ might be a more appropriate label for him.

“To be honest, I’ve had sex with men, and I’ve had sex with women,” he ponders aloud. “Some of those men and women were trans, and to me, I wasn’t attracted to the idea they were trans men or women, but the fact they were ‘men or women.’”

Mitchell says he often finds more acceptance by the straight community because he feels he’s very ‘straight passing.’

Sometimes, it seems, the gay community looks at him as being purely “gay for pay.”

“That’s simply not true,” affirms Mitchell. “I have a boyfriend currently, I’ve had a boyfriend previously; I’ve actually had more sex with men than with women.”

“It seems like it’s very difficult, sometimes, to get people to actually recognize and accept, truly and honestly, that I’m bisexual,” laments the Kentucky native.

Best known for his work in front of the cameras for Helix Studios, the 23-year-old confides that he prefers working in gay porn over straight porn for several reasons.

First, there’s the bigger payday.

“I choose to do gay porn instead of straight porn because there’s more money to be made as a male performer in gay porn than in straight porn,” explains the award-winning adult performer.

There’s also the difference in working environment.

“I also didn’t want to be a part of the straight industry because of how it can be operated sometimes,” he added. “The gay industry can be seedy, too, sometimes, but pretty much all of the straight industry is seen as seedy from the other performers that I've talked to.”

Mitchell believes the advancement of female directors in the porn industry has definitely been a plus, but admits, “It’s still objectifying, because it’s still porn."

"But, it’s not necessarily as degrading as it used to be,” he quickly adds.

  1. Bi men don’t exist. I really wish I still had the link, but some research was done by detecting arousal in men who considered themselves bi. Absolutely 0 was detected towards women. (oddly enough, the report said that bi women did have arousal towards both male and female)

    • Please follow up on this study. It was revisited and adjustments were made in the self reporting
Bisexuality in men very clearly does exist and can be seen in MRIs. It is not as prolific as people make it put to be, but it does exist.

  2. I don’t think any gay or bi

I don't think any gay or bi man gives a rat's behind if the guy is bi or straight and having a hot sex scene.

  4. I find it interesting. I’ve

I find it interesting. I've never known a real bisexual man. I didn't think they existed. Apparently a guy can be stimulated by both genders. Not me. But it's another piece of the human sexuality puzzle.

  5. Wow, Instinct, you just lost

Wow, Instinct, you just lost a reader in me.  Just when you have semi-relevant material on here, you keep posting about this guy as if the world knows/cares who he is. Every few days there is another article about him.  Obviously,  he is either paying you in his effort to become an "influencer" of some kind or else someone on your staff has an embarrassing crush on him and continuously wants to write about him. Regardless, it has become a waste of my time to check your site any more.
