There was a calm after Pulse where we waited for a song, waited for something to heal, waited for someone to help us express our pain, love, community, and hope. We covered the release of one such song, Pulse – Eli Lieb & Brandon Skeie. An Amazing Song In Response To The Orlando Massacre, and was so thrilled when a Cable network agreed with us "The Song We've Been Waiting For" – MSNBC. It was Instinct's favorite and I still listen to it often.
Crap, crap, crap. I just teared up again.
No, losing the election was not like losing lives at Pulse in Orlando. The two events cannot be compared on an equal plane. But to many the election was a huge downward swing that may take some time to rise up from.
There may be a song, a phrase, a saying that may bring us out of this funk. Until the perfect one comes along, we're gonna be listening to this one from Emeli Sande.
Emeli Sandé has premiered the video for "Breathing Under Water." yesterday, one day ahead of the release of her sophomore album Long Live The Angels (Capitol Records).
