Britain’s Got Talent Has Some NSFW Neighbors

British parents are complaining because a chosen site for Britain’s Got Talent auditions is right next door to a gay sauna.

While gay society has primarily stepped away from saunas as the social and sexual playgrounds of gay men, many establishments still stand strong today. You’d think there’s no need for private spaces where gay men can enjoy time together away from judgy straight people, but that’s apparently not the case.

Hull Daily Mail reports that the Oak Vaults is a pub that has been flooded with complaints after it was chosen as the location for Britain’s Got Talent auditions. The reason being, the building is next to the Gentry Hull, a male-only sauna. And many show parents are not happy about that fact.

“I have children, and friends who have children, who want to go to this and it’s disgusting that the location has been chosen as this pub,” complained one father to the publication.

“They wanted to go but I put a stop to it because now we have figured out where it is because of the venue.”

He then added:

“Some people may think that I am over-thinking it, but it’s not appropriate to host something that children might want to attend, but that’s just attached to a male sauna where people are having sex.

“It’s just completely wrong and I don’t think it’s right for kids to be near all of that.”

In response to this criticism and many like it, the owners of the pub and sauna say that both establishments are “completely separate entities.”

Said Oak Vault’s spokesman:

“We are staggered to the ninth degree someone could be so petty to say this and that has probably come from our competitors.

“Britain’s Got Talent are aware of what is next door. Everyone in their right mind knows that they are not connected. They are completely separate entities. Here, it runs as a pub and the two just don’t mix.”

The pub then used the moment to do some self-promoting as well as announcing another opportunity for artists. Oak Vaults shared that for folks who aren’t petty and don’t mind the next-door neighbors, there will be a “live and raw” event hosted at the business.

“The showcase type event is possibly for people who are starting off in their career who are not used to the big stage.

“We are a music pub through and through and want the event to show how well people can blossom as well. This is designed more for people who are more at home to a working a pub scene and get up and perform.”

  1. Hi how can the sauna be a separate building when every one uses the same entrance and the sauna uses the same till card machine telphone and email address.
Men in the sauna are allowed to go in the pub naked for alcohol as the sauna has no drinks licence.
When the bar is open to the public then men useing the sauna have to get dressed.
People useing the pub will have to cross men useing the sauna.
Lots of men will go in the pub whilst waiting for men picked up on grinder.
The car park opisit the pub/sauna is a cruising site and is used by a lot off men
