She has snagged multiple Grammy, Juno and Polaris Prizes nominations, and now singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has surprised us again with not one, but two (sure to be) infectious pop treats. released today, February 27, on School Boy/Interscope Records. "Now That I Found You" and "No Drug Like Me" are available now at all digital retailers and will appear on Jepsen’s forthcoming album, due for release in 2019. “Now That I Found You” will also be featured as Zane Lowe’s World Record today on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
“Now That I Found You” was produced by Captain Cuts and “No Drug Like Me” was produced by John Hill & Jordan Palmer.
Jepsen has said that "Now That I Found You" is "about the high you get when a new love starts to change your life. It’s like the rush, rush, rush is better than any drug". The track itself is quintessential Jepsen; pop heavy beats, with a true hands in the air vocal. With vocals full of this much promise and an air of anticipation, this track is the perfect soundtrack for many of us emerging after a winter hibernation.
The other track Jepsen released today is "No Drug Like Me" and Jepsen says "is a promise I made to love in general. That when the good stuff lands my way I’ll always try to be vulnerable and brave and show all of myself. A slightly darker and moodier vibe for Jepsen is on hand here, but her signature electronic vibes are front and center throughout the track. "No Drug" is a love song of sorts, showing a much more evolved and slightly sensual Carly Rae, which is a welcome change for her long time fans. This pair of tracks shows that while CRJ may have gone though a bit of a "glow up" our favorite pop princess has plenty of anthems at the ready for us!
