Elton John has enjoyed an illustrious career for several decades now. In that time he has worked with some of the most iconic names in the business includingGeorge MichaelBilly JoelDon Henley and RuPaul.

A musical arena we haven’t seen the “Rocketman” singer go into that deeply (or at all) is the world of hip-hop and rap. That’s why fans were shocked whenFuture posted a photo of them together on Sunday, April 7.

“Me and my brother @eltonjohn leaving the studio,” Future, 35 wrote on his Instagram before finishing up the post with “Love is Love”.

The phrase “Love is Love” began when Lin-Manuel Miranda repeated it during his 2016 Tony Awards acceptance speech for Hamilton. He did this one day after the Orlando Pulse tragedy that took the lives of 49 people.

There were a variety of comments from the photo of Future and Elton, 72. “THIS IS F***ING LEGENDARY BIG BRO,” one wrote.

Others commented on Elton’s flashy attire next to the “Mask Off” emcee. “Elton dripping in Gucci.”

Some fans poked fun at the situation with some lighthearted humor. “S/o to future for promoting new artists like him.” Something similar happened when Paul McCartney worked with Kanye West and Rihanna on the 2015 track “FourFiveSeconds.”

Elton has a big year ahead of him with the release of Rocketman, which comes out domestically May 31. Taron Egerton plays him in the movie described as a “true fantasy.” Other stars in the upcoming film include Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin and Richard Madden as John Reid.

Should be interesting to see what Future and Elton are cooking up for the masses.
