Gay Australian Athlete Couple Among 1st To Wed As Marriage Equality Becomes Official

Shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning, Gay Australian track athletes Craig Burns and Luke Sullivan tied the knot and were wed as one of the first Australian couples to celebrate Marriage Equality being legal.

We missed them getting engaged, but it seemed just as romantic as they were in their bathing suits for that special occasion (see video at end of post).

Their wedding ceremony on an estate in New South Wales was a little more covered up as they were in front of 50 guests.

“It’s another way to show your love and appreciation of your partner in front of the people in your life,” Burns said. Sullivan said he has been bombarded with well-wishes on his social media.

”It’s been the opposite of anything bridezilla — they have been a dream team,” she said. –

The Commonwealth Games (being held in Australia this year) have put their honeymoon plans on hold until after April as they both are training for the Commonwealth Games.

How big was the wedding?  The world was watching as it was heavily covered across the globe.  Fifty attendants turned into thousands and thousands as it was shared in the US and in England.

Congrats men!  We can't wait to see the honeymoon destination and photos!
