A gay couple in France were tear-gassed in their own home after becoming victims of blackmail.

According to Le Parisien, a gay couple, whose identities have not been shared with the public, were recently at the mercy of a younger man. The couple from Épinay-sur-Seine, France first started having problems after they had a sexual encounter with this 19-year-old man. The younger man later contacted the couple accusing them of giving him an STD. He then demanded money from the couple as compensation. Keep in mind, the man gave no proof of actually contracting an STD or that they were the source of his infection.

But perhaps the man was right, or perhaps the married couple was afraid for some other reason, as they began to pay the man. After several payments, the couple ended up sending him 4000 euro (or about $4400). But that didn’t end their problems.

Around 1 a.m. this Monday morning, the couple heard someone knocking at their door. They then opened it to find four people wearing masks. The group stated they were sent to retrieve money for the young man. When the couple refused to give the group money, they were sprayed with tear gas.

The group immediately left after the attack. The couple then called the police. Now with the situation under investigation, the police say they have yet to identify any of the four masked strangers. In addition, they were unable to find the young man in his home.

The search continues.

  1. Gays must be ever vigilant for predators. Even when the accusations against gays is false, we succumb to fear. Doing the bidding of a predator simply encourages more of the same actions.
