Rodrigo Alves Lasted Only Nine Days!

Ahh, reality television. The beginning of making anyone a Celebrity, right? Reality television may have started off with MTV’s The Real World, but when we think of the most popular series, the stand outs are definitely primetime television’s Survivor, Big Brother, and American Idol. Our friends across the pond in the UK celebrate their version of Big Brother with a special celebrity season. It’s like the better version of The Surreal Life. Let’s not forget, however, that reality icons such as Michelle Visage, Courtney Act, and Tiffany “New York” Pollard have entered the Celebrity Big Brother UK house, and have come out the other side with much success.

While many could argue the United States’ version of Big Brother is rigged to no-end: At least we don’t have to deal with the bizarre antics of having the absolute worst “celebrities” entering our television screens. The US version of Celebrity Big Brother is right around the corner, but let’s hope they stray far away from viral and YouTube stars. The closest stunt-eye roll casting Big Brother has given us is the displeasure of everything that is Frankie Grande, but I digress. One of the latest semi-famous "stars" to appear on Celebrity Big Brother UK is none other than the Human Ken Doll, Rodrigo Alves.

According to The Sun UK, Alves, 35, quit the competition after nine days because he refused to live any longer without his mobile device and any contact to the outside world. However, The Sun states it was told that Alves had been ejected from the game after inappropriate behavior. Alves has been cited using derogatory racial slurs against others while in the home. Alves denies the allegations of being expelled. He claims:

“The experience in the house was amazing but enough for me. I was not coping very well to be without my mobile phone and not being in contact with my family and friends. After (fellow contestant) Natalie [Nunn] left I felt very upset because she was the life and soul in the house and got very much misunderstood. All I wanted out of the show was to have fun and to show to the UK that I m a nice and fun person.”

The Sun went on to remind me this is the season that Stormy Daniels allegedly quit immediately before filming. Big Brother UK … get it together! This show needs to stop casting train wrecks for views, it clearly never turns out well.
