Are the rumors true? Could Fran Drescher and crew be bringing The Nanny back to life?
She spoke with OK! Magazine Monday night about it at the Broadway Sings for Pride’s 8th Annual Charity Concert “Revolution" at The Cutting Room in New York City. Other stars like Frankie Grande and openly gay pro wrestler Anthony Bowens were also in attendance. The concert benefited The Tyler Clementi Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to ending online and offline bullying.
She was asked on the red carpet if The Nanny would have a reboot similar to what other 90's sitcoms have experienced recently. "Well, we’re not going to have that in motion just yet,” she revealed to OK!. "We have something else, equally as exciting, that I can’t exactly announce yet. But it’s going to be exciting.” OMG!
Rumors started swirling back in December when Fran said that she would be "open" to bringing the show back. “As far as a reboot goes, I would be open to it if somebody wanted to do it,” she revealed to Closer Magazine. “But if nobody wants to do it, then I’m currently trying to develop something else.”
Then she posted the above photo in March that featured her with some of the writers and producers of The Nanny. The pic made many people think that the reboot was in full effect.
So Fran, what's the deal? Is The Nanny back? Please let us know sooner than later. Our hearts may not be able to take it.
