Jake Shears is back with a new single. “Meltdown,” the first single off of his untitled second album to be released this year, is a disco-influenced tribute to 80’s singer, Sylvester.
The former Scissor Sisters frontman was revealed as the Unicorn on “The Masked Singer U.K.” on February 1st.
While appearing on the British singing competition, Shears sang Kate Bush’s “Babooshka”
“Juice” by Lizzo
ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man”
and Blur’s “Girls and Boys”
While Shears has not divulged when his sophomore album will be released, he did reveal it has influences from David Bowie, Daft Punk and Lionel Richie.
“Meltdown” is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and other music streaming services.
