Yet another black man has been found dead at the Hollywood apartment of Edward Buck, and it looks like he’ll get away with it yet again.
Edward Buck is a prominent donor to the Democratic Party. He has openly supported several Democratic politicians like Hilary Clinton, Adam Schiff, and Ted Lieu.
But it's Buck's personal life that has many Black Rights and LGBTQ Rights advocates shaking their fists at him. Why? Because, another black man has died in Buck’s Hollywood home.
According to CBS News Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the apartment after 1 a.m. this past Monday. What they found was the body of a black man, whose identity has not been released, that wasn’t breathing. Paramedics conducted CPR on the victim, but he died at the house.
Despite being present for this death and the death of Gemmel Moore, the Los Angeles Times reports that Buck has not been arrested. That said, his attorney, Seymour Amster, states that Buck is cooperating with investigators.
“From what I know, it was an old friend who died of an accidental overdose, and unfortunately, we believe that the substance was ingested at some place other than the apartment,” Amster told The LA Times. “The person came over intoxicated.”
The police department says that the Sheriff’s homicide investigators are “conducting a thorough investigation” of this second death, and will do “follow-up interviews and a secondary review” of Moore’s death.
Back in August of 2017, we brought you the story of Gemmel Moore. Moore was found dead at Buck’s Hollywood apartment from an accidental crystal meth overdose.
Several black, gay men then came forward to say that Buck has a fetish for shooting drugs into black men he meets from dating sites/apps or picks up off the street.
Then a year later in 2018, police had discovered a journal belonging to Moore in which he wrote the following excerpts:
“I honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve become addicted to drugs and the worst one at that. Ed Buck is the one to thank. He gave me my first injection of crystal meth it was very painful, but after all the troubles, I became addicted to the pain and fetish/fantasy.”
“My life is at an alltime [sic] high right now & I mean that from all ways. I ended up back at Buck [sic] house again and got munipulated [sic] into slamming again. I even went to the point where I was forced to doing 4 within a 2day [sic] period. This man is crazy and its [sic] sad. Will I ever get help?”
His last entry, in Dec. 3, 2016, goes: “If it didn’t hurt so bad, I’d kill myself but I’ll let Ed Buck do it for now.”
Ever since his death, Moore’s mother LaTisha Nixon has been campaigning for the police to properly investigate Edward Buck.
But it seems those efforts were left unheard until now. It's unfortunate that it took a second man's death to get police to seriously look into the situation.
