Markie More the porn star is no more. Now, we have Markie More the Mormon organization and anti-porn advocate?

Adult film performer More has announced his departure from the business. In addition, he now shares his open hostility toward it.

Last week, more posted to Twitter to share this change in his life.

“I’ve decided that I’m officially done with the adult industry,” he wrote. “I will be deleting both my onlyfans and justforfans accounts one month from today. If you’re subscribed to either, please unsubscribe so you’re not charged again.”

More then explained how he’s feeling like this new direction is the right one for himself. He also says that the last six years have been hard on him.

“If you’re wondering, I’ve quit because I can no longer promote lustful and deviant behavior. Lust is a monster, and the more you feed it, the hungrier it becomes. I’ve shown absolutely no hate whatsoever. If you think this, then you’re either confused and/or misinformed.”

More went further to say that he has seen the ugly sides of the NSFW industry and has decided to walk away.

“I’ve witnessed porn destroy numerous people, friendships, relationships, families, etc. It does far more harm than good for people. Unfortunately, telling people you fantasize real love isn’t something a studio wants you to say. So, instead I told lies, not even good ones either. I sincerely apologize for misleading you. I will only speak truths from this point forward.”

But More isn’t simply stepping away from the adult film industry. He is also openly opposing it. More has expressed his support of the organization Fight The New Drug. Fight The New Drug is a Mormon-owned organization that denounces pornography as harmful to individuals, relationships, and society.

All of this sounds fine, at first. More is a grown man and is able to make his own decisions. That said, there is some worry over the legitimacy of this organization he’s supporting. As Towleroad reports, the program seems to be founded by homophobic scheme artists.

As the Daily Beast wrote back in 2015, the owners of the organization, Clay Olsen and Jason Carroll, have expressed homophobic views.

“Last year, attorneys for Carroll and another BYU professor filed a brief (PDF) in Bostic v. Schaefer—a lawsuit which successfully challenged Virginia’s same-sex marriage ban—defending the state and arguing that the legalization of same-sex marriage would harm children by ‘weakening the connection of heterosexual men to marriage and fatherhood.’”

“An attorney for Carroll and a colleague also filed an amicus curiae brief in the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges case (PDF), this time arguing that same-sex marriage would ‘would have a profound impact on the United States’ already below-replacement level fertility rate,’ and potentially cause socioeconomic problems. This repeated anti-gay advocate is the man who ‘keeps things factual’ for FTND, according to his bio on the organization’s website.”

In addition, an article, by the now abandoned Harlot Magazine, pointed out how Carroll has a specific bias towards traditional marriage stereotypes and standards.

“‘My suspicion stems from Carroll’s specialties, which are “marriage fragmentation, sexual intimacy, marriage readiness among young adults, the effectiveness of marriage education, and modern threats to marriage (such as pornography, delayed age at marriage, materialism, premarital sexuality, and non-marital childbirth).” Carroll teaches BYU’s “Marriage Prep” course, which is disappointingly a college course you take for credit and not a Live Action Roleplay set in the universe of the films Kinsey and Pleasantville.”

While Markie More’s intentions may be legitimate, it seems he’s supporting an organization that isn’t as sincere. But will the man find that out himself or fall further down the rabbit hole? Only time will tell.

  1. He’s a gorgeous guy.

What exactly is the “nsfw industry”?
    Never heard of it.
You see, because I used to work at an adult web company, and it was our job to be cruising adult websites the entire day. So why judge all people that a particular website or content is “not safe for work”?

  6. Another gay4pay guy who retires and then decides to stab his former costars and gay fans in the back by attacking them and the porn he made. What a sad pathetic closet case. And a boring top too.
