Most Americans Claim To Approve A Gay President

Pete Buttigieg Truly Could Win The Democratic Party!

If you’re an avid follower of my blogs (Bueller?) you’ll know I like to talk politics. I’m a rather odd Millennial who likes to ride the fence on party ever since Hillary Clinton left the blue nation disappointed and seeing the extremist Democrats reactions for the last three years in media and my personal life. I’m a registered Democrat, but openly Libertarian, and am a pretty hard critic when it comes to who I believe could defeat the demon in The White House, Donald Trump. Recently, my obsession with Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, has caused me to publicly state I’ll be placing my vote for him in the Democratic primary. Not surprisingly, Buttigieg’s popularity has been rising leading him to a current $7 million campaign haul. Now, we’re looking at some more good news regarding the first openly gay presidential candidate.

According to NBC News, 68% of all Americans claim to be comfortable with having a gay or lesbian candidate running for presidency. This is up from a 2006 poll where 53% of Americans claimed to be “very uncomfortable” or had “reservations” about a gay or lesbian running. I often wonder where these voters and polls come from, because no one has ever asked me to take a survey on these, but this is one I can definitely get behind! Unfortunately, this doesn’t guarantee most people will vote this way when it comes to being in their voting booth, but it’s still promising.

Out of the slew of Democratic candidates, I can’t help but feel Buttigieg has a fighting chance. It’s clear his only competition, as I’m led to believe, is Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Beto O’Rourke, who has not won in his own state so I’m curious how he would win over the masses. From these three, he certainly separates himself by not leaning far socialist, far left, or seeking fame. While most of us are looking forward to seeing the Trump Administration get voted out, which to be honest would be much more satisfying than an impeachment, I’m trying to root for the person who I firmly believe can unite both Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. So far, my eyes are only on Buttigieg and I implore you to check out his many interviews which are sprawled over YouTube. To say you don’t have access to them is poppycock, so he’s Buttigieg on Real Time with Bill Maher from last week.

If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s me watching The View every weekday to hear their political banter. Thankfully, I’m not actively watching a bunch of people with the same opinion conjure delusion after delusion as they all share a different view. I’ve said it before, but Joy Behar and Ana Navarro continue to make a joke out of Buttigieg’s campaign run. Today, the women bring up the report and beg the question if America is ready for a gay president. In agreement, the ladies are ready for one, especially a qualified person in general, but Behar cannot help but avoid giving personal praise to Buttigieg and instead talks about the former 15th president, James Buchanan, who may have been gay. Navarro continues to make a mockery of his last name. It’s such an eye roll and is not funny. Almost always based in reality, co-host Sunny Hostin, praises him for being open about his faith, something special to many Americans who choose to believe. Former Fox News co-host, Abby Huntsman, feels connected to Buttigieg and called him “the opposite of Trump.” Meghan McCain tries to speak about Buttigieg being a great candidate for the Democratic party, yet is cut off by Behar and a rant of socialism. Check out their argument below:
