In the frank, five-minute clip, which racked up more than a half-million views in its first few hours online, Daley said “I still fancy girls” but revealed that he’s recently started dating a man.

“Come spring, this year, my life changed. Massively. When I met someone and it made me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy. And it did take me by surprise a little bit. It was always in the back of my head that it could happen, but it wasn’t until the spring of this year that something clicked. It felt right. Like I said, my whole world just changed right there and then.”

Daley said he opted to use YouTube as his forum because he wanted his words to come out clearly.

Brave boy. I was 27 when I finally said stiff bickie if you don"t like it lump. That was over 40 years ago when the penalties were harsh including 15 years jail for sodomy. I didn't have the net and communities were (and obviously certain elements still are) much less tolerant. We are so close to being 100% equal(except here in Australia) but we should never take our freedom and rights forgranted.

  14. Congrats!

    Congrats!

There will be haters but please ignore them and their ignorance. The message you sent will help inspire other people and some whom are torn and desperate for acceptance. It is for those people that your message will be most important and the reason why all the haters in the world do not matter. If you inspire one person and help only one person to be stronger then it will be worth it for you.

Thank you for being a delightful person, and awesome diver and an inspiration to millions. Your charm, smile, wit and sweet disposition enlightens so many of us.

    You rock.

I wish you all the happiness in the world.  I did not tell my friends and family until I was 50.  Like you, they have been wonderfully supportive (at least most of them).  Be who you are and be happy, most people really do not care.

  29. I don’t recall him saying the

I don't recall him saying the he is 'bisexual' at all. And I don't recall because he didn't say it at all. He didn't use the words 'gay' or 'homosexual' or 'heterosexual' either. He said he is 'dating a guy' and that he feels safe and happy.

It would be SOOOOO nice if "we" could just let it be.  Just let him continue to be happy.  Why do "we" have this insatiable need to pounce?  And yes, that was a rhetorical question.
