We have yet another update on the saga of a relationship between the ex-priest from the UK and his aspiring model boyfriend.
It looks like the 80-year-old retired priest named Philip Clements and his 25-year-old husband Marin Florin are going strong. Florin posts on social media that the two have worked out their differences and have stuck together for the past seven months after a brief split. Then, Clements shared with The Sun that the settlement also involves dating other people.
"I love him to bits. Sometimes we have a little row but underlying it all I have a deep affection for him," he said.
"I love him to bits, if we were permanently separated, I would be the most unhappy person in the world."
It was also revealed that the two have reestablished their relationship as an open one where Marin can date other people.
The internet became abuzz with gossip when it first heard wind of Philip Clements and Florin Marin almost two years ago.
The then 78-year-old old former priest married a 24-year-old aspiring model and reality star. The age difference alone could have caught the attention of the internet, but it was the marriage that pushed it along. Clements took a stand against the Church of England’s rules against clergymen being barred from same-sex marriage. He then retired in order to marry Marin.
Then several months later, the story caught our attentions again after Clements was left nearly homeless. Clements sold his home in Kent, England in order to afford a new house in Bucharest, Romania for the couple. Clements also put Marin’s name down on the house due to his age and uncertain life expectancy.
Once that was done, Marin and Clements started fighting regularly as Marin would leave the house often to go partying. Eventually, Clements left to visit his physician in England. While he was there, Marin shared that he wanted to break up and that Clements shouldn’t return to the Bulgarian home. This left Clements homeless.
Shortly after, news came that Marin had found a new boyfriend to date. Despite that, Clements insisted that he was trying to work things out with his husband and it looks like they have.
Will this whirlwind of a relationship settle here? Hopefully so, but we’ll see.
